Listen to each other. This may sound simple but some people actually never do this. You hear your spouse everyday but you actually never hear her. Her voice became that white noise in your surrounding that you never take seriously. Active listening doesn’t only involved on what is said, it also includes what your partner’s been acting, the look in her eye, the deep sigh. Listen to these cues, because they will point you into a direction that will save marriage from divorce.

Take a breather. It is no secret that there are great demands involved in a marriage, and if you are not careful, it would consume you and leave you irritable and bitter. When you are in this mood, it can spell trouble. It is important in a marriage to have a breather. To get out of it and have you alone moments, either with friends or just by yourself. This would give you some time to look at your marriage outside of the box. Thus give you an idea on which direction you are going, and if you like the direction it is heading,

Have fun together. Marriage is a serious matter, but if you take it so seriously, you might not appreciate the beauty of it. With all the obligations that you need to do, you and your spouse deserve to go out and have some fun and het some laughs. In other words, you need to lighten up. Too much work, chores, and obligations can leave your message dull and ugly.

Give each other a break. This is about giving each other some slack. There are times when your spouse screws up or just want to get lazy in the middle of deadline. I say, if it is not a life threatening situation, allow your mate to be human.

These are all simple things, but this can save marriage from divorce.

Nothing in this world is constant, each and every one changes, even the love and feeling you have for your partner. Other couples think that when the honeymoon stage is over, the love is over and the relationship is doomed to end. Nothing can be further from the truth. The feeling on enthusiasm and excitement on the relationship may be gone, but a deeper, more comfortable love replaces it. A love that is more secure and stable.

Other couples would think that this would be boring, but the fact is, this is the phase of the relationship where you can work together in inspiring each other for success. Since the honeymoon stage is over, you are through impressing each other, and become more focused on how to make your goals a reality. When you are in this stage, you need to update each other because your partner may not get what is going on, you partner might be confused why you don’t bring flowers and chocolates anymore, and you don’t go out on dates as much anymore. This is where updating comes in. You need to update your partner that it is time to save for a house, a car, a baby, etc. The upgrading, is when you and your partner finds a compromise on how to keep a little piece of the honeymoon stage to the phase of collaboration.

You could compromise to have dates but not as expensive as you used to. To keep marriage beautiful is all about communication and consideration.
